The Business Profile is divided into four (4) main sections: Details, Operations, Finances, and Your Valuation. Whether you plan to sell a business immediately or within the next 12-24 months, the Business Profile should be maintained and actively updated for accuracy.

Calculating Valuation Range with Mavrek

After inputting your financial information in the 'Business Profile - Finances' section and selecting the business industry from the list of NAICS titles in the 'Business Profile - Details', Mavrek will generate a valuation range utilizing the EBITDA multiples of comparable industry sales. While valuation ranges are not an exact science and open to interpretation, the Mavrek valuation range is a good starting point for determining an approximate asking price and/or a good selling price for the business.

Finding a Third Party Valuation

  1. Discuss with Trusted Advisors (CPA, business broker, etc.)
  2. Ask if they can generate a valuation report
  3. Email support@mavrek.com for third party valuation recommendations
  4. Select a good third-party valuation expert

Mavrek recommends consulting with a third-party valuation expert (e.g. CPA, valuation analyst, etc.) for alternative valuation methods to determine the average valuation and therefore the desired asking price.

Real Value of Business

IMPORTANT: The real value of a business is what a buyer is willing to pay for it. Do not wed yourself to a specific valuation and be unreasonable to buyer offers. If you want to sell your business successfully, get in front of as many buyers as possible and choose the best offer.
